Settings tested in my F20 (120d)
- here, only the lower cluster of the instrument display changes its color from orange to white
- normal analog displays (e.g. speedometer) remain in orange color
- lower cluster changed to white color doesn't look too ggod at night with orange rest of the displays
- lower cluster in white color is too bright at night and might dazzle you while driving
--> I reverted it back to the original settings

I am having good luck coding (so far!) Now have TPMS temp and pressure, no disclaimers, fogs with high beam, etc. Now for the problem I had hoped to solve...cluster lights. I have read this forum and tried changing a couple of settings (daytime always and orange/grau)...but no good. With switch in auto my daytime dash is all dark...no detectable light at all.....if it comes on (by switch or night) it is orange. It seems this changed after dealer did software update. Any suggestions?

Oh! Looks like I don't have the 6wa just standard. Bummer! That explains all but my poor memory!

There is no way to have the white color backlight on the F30 as the F30 does not have the full black panel 6WA like the one F10 and F01 do. Only this cluster has white backlight for the numbers, but for the F30 the numbers are already printed. So its a hardware difference, no amount of coding can help.

I have a 2012 528xi F10. I just had my car coded but couldn't get the
Daytime white on my cluster display. I don't have the extended display.
Is there Any work around for my display?

Mein Auto: 420i Xdrive F36 M Sport
BMW 420i Xdrive M Sport (F36) born Sept. 2014.

I have successfully coded many enhancements (thanks to Shawn for Esys/pzdata) but have hit the brick wall on attempting to set day time lights permanent – in addition to knowing how to get Amber/White dials permanent instead of the occasional appearance.

I believe I have the enhanced cluster - Day time giving me the red/white text (occasionally White\Orange dials) then all Amber at night. I’ve switched off analogue dials on iDrive to get rid of the Efficient Dynamics stuff….

Changes made for permanent Day Time cluster lights(without any joy) –

KOMBI 3007 DIM_NACHT_EIN werte = FF
KOMBI 3000 HINTERGRUND_FARBE_TAG (does not exist)
KOMBI 3000 CC_TEXT_FARBE weiss_orange

I also have HU-NBT 3000 M_VEHICLE aktiv - Gauges in Sports Display from BMW Amber to Red & Silver

The last change I made was to set DIM_NACHT_AUS to nicht_aktiv in case it was competing with DIM_NACHT_EIN….

Any advise/comments welcome.

it set this to Grau KOMBI-->3000 Anzeige_Konfiguration-->HINTERGRUND_FARBE_TAG
and had this KOMBI->3007 KI_Dimmung, 24->DIM_NACHT_EIN->werte=FF
and i also tried but I am still getting orange at night with my light switch set to auto.
any ideas why it does not work

Hey guys.
Any updates on this?

I've recently tried the following on a F11 535 built 09\10\2015 but it doesn't seem to work:

KOMBI 3000 CC_TEXT_FARBE weiss_orange
KOMBI 3007 DIM_NACHT_EIN werte = FF

and tested additonally:
DIM_NACHT_AUS to nicht_aktiv

if not possible by coding. why not physical mod? i asume kombi have photo resistance for change color. depend of exterior luminosity, maybe is possible remplace photocell by resistance, of low ohm. it can checked with tester.
this is possible way?
I never want orange color. i not have problem with disable this.

My F30 do have option 6WA but during daytime my cluster is not lighted up with white light. So as to say there is missing hardware and impossible to code? I did coded it some time back but with no luck. Anyone able to advise?

Will work? Any idea?

I think switching from day to night mode is not only tacho sensor related

you can code RLS by sensor for day/night mode. But originally only use tacho sensor for kombi and NAV.

I try only remplace photosensor by fixed resistance and work now. Allways white

The unique problem is, dim function not work.
I check if this is possible fix by code.
