I have a 1991 BMW 525i 5 speed and I have no heat I don't know what it could be! My blower motor sounds extremely bad when I turn on the air idk if that's the problem but I don't have AC or heat idk if my thermastat is bad or if its the blower motor my antifreeze is good and I checked all the fuses but idk if I checked the right one LOL I'm in a mess and need some help can't anyone help me out?
If the blower motor makes noise when you turn it on, that would be the obvious place to start. If it isn't moving air, you wont get heat or AC.
Does the temp gauge come up normally and sit in the middle once driven a bit? That would be an indication of the thermostat working correctly. If the car does not fully warm up to the center of the gauge on cold days, the thermostat could be part of your problem.
Heater valve assembly amongst other things such as the aux water pump. Theres a quick fix for the assembly which might work. Please gpogle for the writeups. Your blower is clearly bad too.
No pump = no hot coolant circulating to the heater valve. No heater valve = no variable hot coolant circulation into the dashboard pipes.
Your blower noise = leaves and crap atuck in the blowers fins, or maybe the blower got loose from its bracket or it is defective even if it blows air. Access it from the engine bay under the wiper. Also change out your cabin air filter, accessible through your glove compartment i believe.
Have you downloaded the bentley manual ?
