Anyone have an i3 lease in DC?

High mileage hybrids and electric vehicles are exempt from DC excise tax for a purchase, this can save 6-7% at registration depending on vehicle weight. In DC for a lease there is a monthly "use" tax of 10% of the lease payment. I have not been able to find an answer on whether hybrids/electric vehicles are also exempt from the lease "use" tax. If anyone has experience, can you please check you BMW FS lease paperwork to see if you are paying the 10% tax?

Thanks

I pay 10% on each monthly payment in DC. At least I didn't pay the sales tax up front on the total car value, as many states require.

Thanks for that information. Clearly an example of laws not being made consistent to incentivize hybrid/EV cars. Buying is incentivized, leasing is not.
