New 3 series with Multifunctional instrument display?

There is a new option when ordering the 3 series to upgrade it with a "Multifunctional instrument display"

There is no photo and this is the description:
"Combines round instruments with chrome rings with high-resolution 8.8" colour display using black-panel technology"

So I'm wondering if it's the same thing as on the latest 4 series 2018?

Right now there is a conflict with the HUD. Don't know when it will be fixed.

since they're building 2018s 4xx NOW, is the cluster going to be replaced once this issue is resolved? Is there an official word from BMW on this?? is the customer in for a surprise once they get their 2018?

It's an option. You can see it on bmw.be.

Have no idea. My car is on the build list but I felt the HUD was more important to me than the panel & my lease was running out.

If it gets released & the car has not been built will see if I can add it on. As for replacing it; its an option so I don't see why they would be obligated to swap panels after the fact.
