Term: 36 Months/10K Per Year
MSRP: $47,945.00
Negotiated Price: $41,360.00
Taxes/Other Fees: $3,799.52
Balance Due: $45,159.52
Down Payment: $2,000.00
Corporate Fleet Rebate: $1,500.00

I also used the corporate fleet discount which lowered the money factor significantly.

I don't think it really matters since they bought the car last Oct.

Gentlemen,

So I'm thinking about doing a move here. I originally bought my 2013 328i but I'm thinking about trading it in/selling it third party, paying off the last two years of the financing and going to the lease life. This deal is really dependent on the trade in/sale value. I was told high level about $17K trade in at the dealer, which works for me. I really should have leased initially and I think this could be a sweet spot for trading it in compared to what I owe.

Anyways, it was very disappointing hearing about the MSDs. I don't have all the details yet since they wouldn't give me all the details but I was looking at a 430i GC. MSRP was about $50-51k. They took about $3.5k off between different rebates going on and a work discount of $1k. Using all MSDs, .6 residual for 12k miles, it was $540 a month with $2.5k down outside of MSDs. Not sure the money factor but seems like it was pretty high... I think I saw a thread about this but BMW seems to make their leases less attractive. I could get an A4 Quattro at a better price than that and it's currently rated better. I love my BMWs but it just seems really high to me.

Going to go into a different dealer today (still a Penske) to see if I can get more details to supply but anyone have ideas for high level what I should get off MSRP and MF? I think the deal is I can get $1000-1500 off whatever I negotiate with my job discount so I may hold that in my back pocket.

As for discounts, of course it depends on the car and your location. As a point of reference, when I bought my MY2014 3-series on 6/29/14 I got an 11% discount from MSRP at Crevier in Santa Ana. I also used 7 MSDs. My lease is due in 2 months and I'm really going to try and push that discount to 15%. Sedans aren't selling well and BMW's US market share has been declining, so I'm hopeful. My dealer recently quoted me a MF of .00146.

As for the Audi A4, with no negotiation at all the dealer was willing to give me a discount of 10% on a premium plus. The MSRP was $47.7k and was about 2k less than a similar 3-series build, although the Audi had more safety features and the virtual cockpit which BMW doesn't offer. I would need to take the Audi on an extended test drive but the dealer isn't willing to let me take a loaner out for 1.5 hrs. To their credit, my BMW dealer let me take 2 different loaner cars out for half a day each.

FWIW, I'm looking closer at Audi A3s but would you believe you can't get Homelink on the premium plus?

EDIT: Never mind. I decided to pass on this car after reconsidering its condition.

Here's the deal I'm considering:
2015 435i Convertible
Luxury Package
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package (the neck of the seats have heater vents, steering wheel and seat heaters)
Heads-up Display
Harman Kardon Sound System
Standard 18" Alloys, #396 (looks like the only feature they didn't upgrade)
NO M-Sport Package (I think it's not available if all the others are chosen)
12,000 miles
$46K

What say you, gurus of BMW?

I test drive the Audi S3, and WOW, it is one very fun car to drive! Very spirited performance, great acceleration and cornering. Really fun car. If I don't get this BMW convertible, I'll definitely look more at the S3. If you love to drive, if you smile when you see the curvy arrow road sign, the S3 is a way better choice than A3 or A4

Yes but the interior is nowhere near where it should be for that price point IMO.

Hey guys, so I was looking at this car and already signed papers etc but have NOT taken delivery or paid anything down so hopefully can cancel. But I need to know if this deal looks okay to you.

It's a 440xi with carbon fiber front lip , m sport pack, track pack, navigation etc, pretty much fully loaded, manual as well.

Price of 63k, Msrp (68k) and they are going to take in my trade of e93 3 series but I have Negative 5k equity so they will add to monthly payment, so I guess 68k lease amount, they gave me a deal of $940 down and $940 month. Would this be considered a good deal?

Also it's for 10k/36 months

Not worth it, keep your car, and pay down the negative equity, your payment is in M3 territory, unless you want to pay 940/m for a typical 4 series.

Yes that's what I was thinking soon as I left and did more searching. Going to go in Monday and tell them I need to cancel everything. Going to try to sell my car in the meantime and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

2014 328d 54,000KM with NAV - market price?

I've already bought it so I guess this is just for my own curiosity. Love the car so far, just wondering if I paid good price for it.

I'm in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Car is in great shape, brand new tires.

Any comments on value?

TIA - R.

Market price is what people are willing to pay for the car.

Hi all,
Just joined but have been reading posts nonstop for the past few days. Just want to thank everyone for providing such valuable insight. Sometimes it feels like the process is just as fun as taking delivery (or maybe I just need to get a life haha).
Thank you in advance for any replies on this offer:
2017 340i xdrive M Sport
Total MSRP: $54,697 @ 36mo/10k
Sale Price: $50,500
Money Factor : .00150
Term : 36
Residual Percentage : 62%
Residual Value: 33,912.14
Rebate : $2500.00
NY tax: 8.875%
Monthly payment $596.84 with $1212 due at signing
Any suggestions to get the final price down to ~$45,000 after incentives/rebates (signing up with aarp/us swimming) or is that a pipe dream? I want to respect the sales rep's time and not sound completely ignorant. Thanks again.

Sp you want 10K off the MSRP but you say you want to respect the SA time?

Have you gone to the Dealers Forum and looked at how to estimate invoice price? That would be a good start.

I appreciate the suggestion. I have used the information on how to calculate invoice and I've also read some of the great deals people have gotten.

Some folks have gotten fabulous deals, true, but also, don't believe everything that you read on the Internet. Some of the deals are for odd or leftover cars that have been sitting on the lots for a while, and special incentives and offers not available to everyone.

On top of that, offers from BMW vary from region to region, and what time of the year it is, etc. So if you get 8% and you are striving for 18%, it ain't gonna happen, be happy.

From what I can see, it looks like you've got a pretty good deal there. Could you get another $1000 off? Maybe, but you'll have to beat up the SA to do it, and on a popular car, maybe not.

Thank you for your assessment. Like you said, I don't want to beat up the SA especially if the deal being offered is a fair one.

Using your numbers, I'm coming up with a payment of $559.83 including tax (see below). I used the $2500 as a capital cost reduction (down payment). Not sure how you came up with $596.84. How much does your deal show for capital cost reduction?

Capitalized Cost: $ 50500.00 54697.00 MSRP minus discount
Lease Price: $ 48000.00 minus $ 2500.00 down payment
Residual Value: $ 33912.14 after 36 months
Depreciation Fee: $ 391.33 part of lease payment
Lease Fee: $ 122.87 part of lease payment
Monthly Payment: $ 514.20 without tax
Usage Tax: $ 45.64 8.88 % of 14087.86
Total Monthly Payment: $ 559.83

BTW, around here a good lease deal is considered to be a monthly payment of less than 1% of MSRP. Now, if MSDs are no longer allowed, this of course will be harder to attain. For instance, I have a car on order that stickers for $49,520 and my monthly payment will be $449.00, but I used 7 MSDs (late April deal). My only cash outlay is for acquisition fee, DMV fees, multiple security deposits, and dealer fee.

Lease Price:$48000.00minus $ 2500.00 down payment

Residual Value:$33912.14after 36 months

Depreciation Fee:$391.33part of lease payment

Lease Fee:$122.87part of lease payment

Monthly Payment:$514.20without tax

Usage Tax:$45.648.88 % of 14087.86

Total Monthly Payment:$559.83

BTW, around here a good lease deal is considered to be a monthly payment of less than 1% of MSRP. Now, if MSDs are no longer allowed, this of course will be harder to attain. For instance, I have a car on order that stickers for $49,520 and my monthly payment will be $449.00, but I used 7 MSDs (late April deal). My only cash outlay is for acquisition fee, DMV fees, multiple security deposits, and dealer fee.

The monthly numbers on the leasehackr calculator were close to dealer's offer if I plugged the $2500 into Post-Sale Rebate. If applied it as an Incentive, then the monthly payment comes down closer to the low $500s. Still lots to learn about the process and unfortunately personal matters just came up that's taking me out of the market for the time being. At least I've learned a lot for when the time comes to continue the search. I'm currently leasing a Range Rover HST and there was no wiggle room. I knew what I was getting into at the time because of the demand situation, but having SAs that are eager to work on a getting a good deal is what will bring me back to them in the future (hopefully sooner rather than later).
Thanks again to everyone that's provided such valuable information and look forward to reading new posts.
