That part of the guide is not out yet. It is specifically mentioned in the first post -

Quote:
Introduction of an all-new 4-cylinder engine on the 330i model.

Will the 330i have it's own pricing and ordering guide? None those details are in the released docs.

Anyone else find it absolutely obscene that BMW still charges $950 for a backup camera on a $47000 340i that a) will be required on all US cars in 2018 and b) is standard on every single Kia, VW, Mazda, Subaru, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Infiniti, Buick, Audi etc.?

Kia! FFS! a backup camera is standard on a freaking $13k Kia Rio!

Ahhhh, just looked it up. BMW is getting ridiculous. So there is no 235i anymore it's an M235 which is available in Xdrive, but there is also a M2 that will never be Xdrive judging by BMW's past.

I wish they would pick a naming convention and stick to it.

Technically there is no M235i any longer either. It is now the M240i -

$300 plus you need to get nav/Tech pkg for apple car play? hey BMWNA

BMW seems to be working really hard to lose me as a customer. There are lots of great cars out there without having to deal with this crap.

I believe it's always been an M235i.

That would be fine and dandy except BMW also keeps making their cars less and less fun to drive.

I'm not seeing the Track Package on the 328d -- only the 340i. Does this mean it might be dropped from all 4 cyl. models?

doubtful you can get it on all of the 4cylinder 4-series models. maybe just not the diesels.

Also this is a feature that comes standard on a base VW golf. As is a backup camera

Smart of BMW

Keeping the entry level "3" series price at $33.150 is very smart marketing.

This car is within reach of a higher end Honda Accord.

Of course, by the time you add in what you want (say Xdrive, heated seats, and a few other options, you can easily approach $40k - and that IMHO, is simply too much for an entry
level luxury/sporty car.

MY 2017 3 Series Official Details and Pricing

Starting $$ is too high with bare bones equipment. It's why 60-65% of 3/4 series are probably leased. Resale market is flooded with them 2-3 years later. Makes no sense to buy a new one, they are a dime a dozen used

The ordering guide lists all colors available for the 340 which has the Msport package standard now. The notes sections list ZMP requires one of the Msport colors which is inconsistent. So I guess that to get Mediterranean Blue, Mineral White, etc. you must chose ZSP and delete ZMP and an identically equipped 2017 is going to cost $1800 more than a 2016 due to the increased base price. In 2016 I was looking at Mediterranean Blue, Track Package, 19" wheels which was the same price as the Msport package which was a good deal. It would be nice if ZSP included more or you could get a credit for deletion of ZMP. It will be painful to delete the M steering wheel.

If this is accurate I concur with the "marketing" decision. Why would you buy a 328 over a 320 other than wanting more power. If so, you have the choices of the 330 and the 340i.
I thought the 330i is the new name of the former 328i?

Too bad Venetian Beige now has black carpet. Beige carpet was a rare combination that shouldn't be rare but not found on the 5 series or M3. I like lighter interiors because you can see things easier if in a dark garage or if it is at night. Mercedes Benz often has a light shade of gray carpet and light gray seats. This is the best. I chose a beige interior because it makes it easier to see inside and because it makes the car look bigger inside, even though beige interiors don't match a silver exterior. Light gray does.

Not having a back up camera is not good. The car should either be basic luxury or sport. It's neither. BMWs used to have sporty handling but has become a little soft for marketing reasons. However, not soft enough to include a rear camera even though cheap cars from other companies have them.

I would not mind if the 320i came with superior handling, summer tires, no back up camera, no carpet (but had rubber flooring), just manual AC, and a price to match.

And we have this conversation every year when new price guides come out and it probably goes all the way back to the early 90's when 3 series had manual windows and no power door locks but those features were standard on competing cars.

BMW are incredibly poor value for the dollar. They are good lease candidates because of inflated lease residuals.

If someone wants a good value on a non-terrible luxury car with a bit of performance, buy a Lexus.

Now if we had the German autobahn here and you could routinely pilot your 3 series at over 130mph and really enjoy the performance then it might not seem as terrible of a value as it does.

I'm actually a bit surprised that BMW have not stepped things up a bit, with the new A4 breathing down their neck. At $37,000 the new A4 has an engine that is comparable to the 330i, an as good (if not better) dual clutch automatic 7 speed gear box, includes Xenon headlights, backup camera and other goodies.

BMW starts looking like a somewhat terrible value if you are not leasing... especially with the reduction in standard maintenance to 3 years 36K miles.
