Took my car more than 10 times to the stealership and they can't fix it. They say its natural to have some water in(!). Suffice to say, my next convertible will not be a Beemer
That is NOT an acceptable answer. I remember having a slight leak in one of my e64 verts but can't recall what they did to stop it.
I tell you, it's all about your relationship with your SA. He/She has the power to help or shrug off problems with your car.
I had an idle issue in a 545 years ago (the engine shook the car) and while it was "normal" to have some shaking with the 8-cyl engine, instead of shrugging it off, he took it in (twice!) and made some adjustments (can't remember the details now, but it was definitely more than hocus-pocus) to lessen the shaking. The point is he tried.
Be sure to have a consistent SA over the years (assuming you stay loyal to BMW - I have been since 1995).
And sorry to hear about the leaks - those are never fun.
I have had two 2012 BMW 650 ic, both with water leaks, first one was fixed. The second one three times at the dealer. I thought was fixed but in Miami under very heavy rain got drops of water coming from the seal between the windshield pillar and the soft top at the driver side
I owned three e64 convertibles and NEVER experienced any problems with leaks. Quite the contrary, those cars sealed like vaults. That tech's response that some leaking is natural is beyond ridiculous for cars like these. My advice would be to take this issue above that person and to keep going higher until you get it resolved.
I have had an E64 and two F13's and no leaks what so ever. Not even during a Chicago winter snow storm. I would agree with having a consistent SA as that makes all the difference in how your problems are handled.
I had a e64 that leaked... You have to have the tech make sure the drains are clear. If your drains are clear and you still have a leak then the top is defective.
I had a Toyota Solara convertible back in the day - don't judge, it was a long time ago, and I was young and stupid - and I never had a single problem with leaks or anything pertaining to the soft top.
I'd write a letter to BMW and say that if they can't do at least as good as a Toyota that's a third of the price, then you'll be taking your business elsewhere in the future.
