Hello, I am new to the post and wanted to share something that is happening on my 2002 X5 3.0. The car has 140000 miles.
There is a thumping sound coming from the front end. It seems to be in sync with the wheel rotation. I think it is getting progressively louder. It happens on sweeping right turns like going around a curve. I don't notice it going left. It does not happen making a turn around a corner, like stopping at a stop sign and making a right turn.
I had the right wheel bearing replaced but the noise is still there.
Axle replaced but noise is still there.
Anybody have any ideas? Transfer Case?
Any help is much appreciated.
