My check engine light is on and my oil light keeps going on and off. I went to the mechanicand the codes p111f and p0070 came up on the computer. He asked me to research the significance of the codes, so here I am. What do they mean? Is it all related? How can he fix my issue?
the p0070 stands for "Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit" which is the sensor in ur front bumper that detects the outside temperature. it's either broken, malfunctioning or missing due to a bump on the road or something. it needs to be changed
as for the p111f, it's triggered when u have a bad or contaminated MAF sensor, try cleaning it with a CRC MAF cleaner.
once done with both, clear the codes and see what happens
BMW oil-level sensors are notoriously sensitive. If the level on the dipstick is OK, you have nothing to worry about. Adding a small amount (1/2 cup to 1 cup) of oil might get rid of that warning light.
Hey frustratedJoe. I know it has been a long time but did you ever fix your issue with the P0070 and P111f codes? thank you.
