long shifter throw on the 330?
Test drove a 330i today. Fantastic car all around, but one thing that struck me was the long throw of the shifter...now maybe I was just imagining it, but it seemed quite a bit longer than on my z4.
Assuming I'm correct- basicially why is this so? I don't see the advantage or reason, especially when I assume the car has the same tranny as my z4(well @ least it has the same shift knob lol). & wow, that is a fat steering wheel, I thought my wheel was thick... |

I'm pretty sure the throw on the 2006 3-series is longer than my 2005 Z4. I was pondering investigating a short-throw for my '06 when it arrives.

I just picked up my 6SP Manual 330i, and I agree that the Shifter/throw is somewhat long
which is the only disappointment I have with the car, other than those ugly cup holders in the dash. In fact, the Shifter/throw on my 5SP Nissan Pathfinder seems shorter than the E90 330i.
