2005 X3 Made CD Changer Obsolete?
IMO, the CD changer lost its purpose in 2005 X3. The CD player is MP3 readable in 2005, X3. One MP3 CD is = 7-10 regular audio CDs. Can someone think of a good reason to justify the overpriced $755 dealer installed 6 CD changer? (Don't know how to create MP3 CDs is not an excuse. It is worth learning for the savings).

1 CD-R loaded with MP3 files may not be enough. I have an Alpine MP3 6 disc changer mounted in my trunk. It is loaded with 6 CD-R's full of MP3's.

Compared to BMW dealer's non MP3 compatible 6 CD changer's 7.2 hours (6 * 72 Mts) play time is lower than a single MP3 CD's 10 hour play time. I could make a round trip from Boston to Torronto with this one MP3 CD playing only twice. I don't mind carrying couple of MP3 cds in the dashboard.
