Blackberry and Bluetooth

I was at the dealer yesterday ordering my X3 and we paired my Blackberry 7100 to the a new 5 series vehicle. The technician said I wouldn't be able to upload my address book from the Blackberry (seemingly because the blackberry address book has all sorts of information in it; multiple phone numbers, email, street address; basically everything that you have in a PIM).

I was surfing and found this informationat X3world:
http://www.x5world.com/html.php?file=bmw_bt_phones.htm

Basically, it indicates that you can manually upload addresses to the X3 from a Blackberry 7100. Does anyone know if this is true?

Off topic - let us see some pics when you take delivery of your highland green.

I don't think I have ever seen that colour...............

Did you actually see one before you ordered?

Highland Green

I did see it and Highland green is almost a misnomer. If you look at the car it is a rich deep grey/green. Under some light conditions you might say it is grey and not green. In fact, the first time I saw it was in an underground garage and I had to shine my headlights on it, then get out of my car and inspect it closely to determine that it was the Highland Green colour.

Now I have that dreaded 8 or 9 week wait until I take delivery and can post pics.

Yes, Blackberries with Bluetooth have limited bluetooth capability. In general, you cannot upload your addressbook from the blackberry to the X3 (or anything else for that matter). If you go to the blackberry website you can see the limitations of the bluetooth explained.

I posted this a few months ago, but once paired, the BB 7100 only works if I use it within the first minute after starting the vehicle. After that, when a call comes in (or if I want to make one), I can't use the bluetooth link.

I downloaded an update to my 7100 a while back, but didn't seem to help.

Any advice?
