DVD audio playback in my car?

I was checking my VIN number and noticed that my 2004 645 ci has this option listed:
Area-Code 4 for DVD (S700A)

I would like to know if I'm able to play audio DVDs, I've tried one burned by myself with no success (maxell DVD-R 4.7 gb up to 16x) burned with windows media player.

Other options that my Vin shows up are:
- HiFi System Professional DSP (S677A)
- CD changer for 6 CDs (S677A)
- Prep. mobile phone USA Universal (S641A)
- I do have Logic7 in my iDrive
- Production date: 30.04.2004

Finally, I asume my software is not updated since I'm not able to play MP3s.

No, you cannot play DVD Audio in your car. You have two slots, the top is for CD the bottom one is the Navigation DVD. The only way you can play audio from a DVD is if you burn them as MP3's on to the DVD. But since you do not have MP3 enabled you cannot play music from the DVD slot.

You can play a regular store bought CD in both slots.
