Performance Delivery on an X5

I am considering buying an X5 and was thinking about doing a performance delivery.
I have a lot of questions that I was hoping you guys could help me out with:

Does it cost any extra to do a performance deliver?
Do you have to pay extra shipping charge over the "shipping and destination" charge that normally goes along with a new car?
Does the car come out of the dealer's allotment or is it like ED in that it does not affect a dealer's alotment?
What is a reasonably good price to offer over invoice on a 2005 or 2006 X5 4.4is + nav + sound system?

Thanks in advance to all for the help!

Personally, I would be pretty pissed off if they tried to charge much of anything extra, including destination charges. For what, driving it across the street for you? The PC is about 1.5 miles from the actual plant. I could see maybe paying for a PC charge, to defray costs of the good folks over there giving you very personal attention and great experience with your new vehicle.

But, there may be some info on the Dealer board for you. I think that's what Jever was trying to link.

Does not/should not "cost any extra"; make your best deal and then advise Stlr that
you are gonna do Fact. Del. It may be a moot point at this time, as model year end
is very close, vis a vis the ordering process...you gotta ask stlr.

From all anecdotal posts on Spartanburg del. I've read, the Freight cost IS charged in final price.
Dunno if that Factory Del affects Stlr "allotment"; I suspect it counts as a car sold by stlr.
The 4.8 is a diff issue, varying by Stlr, as it is v. low vol. car. GL,md

The Performance Center doesn't cost more, in fact since those cars do not come from the dealers alotment. Dealers usually sell these cars (Performance Center & ED) alot cheaper. Plus there is no destination charge since they are not shipping the truck as they are made across the street. The only problem is getting the car home. ROAD TRIP
