The exhaust flap rattle - it's emberassing

[rant]
Thanks BMW! My car sounds like a feverish rattle snake every time I start it up in the morning.
The rattle sound seems to escalate every day now to a degree my neighbors tell me I have a sick rattle snake in my exhaust pipe.
[/rant]
Now I wonder if I bring it to the dealer they will tell me "cannot reproduce the issue" and send me back home.

You can lock the flap open by unplugging the vacuum servo in the left panel in the trunk, but in the E90, you may get a bit of drone around 80mph.

Doesn't the golf tee mod leave a ghost code in the ECU?

It's harmless; the golf tee mod still triggers the servo, it just thinks the flap is closed.

I will unplug it and see what happens.

Unplugged the actuator connector in the trunk and the rattle is gone now I can proudly say I got a golf tee mod
