iDrive radio

Does anyone know the trick to change the radio with iDrive from US to European? My dealer here in Italy said with last years 3 series you held down the manual button for awhile and the option came up to change to european tuning. US tuning only does odd decimals when tuning the radio, e.g. 105.9 then 106.1, while european tuning does 105.9 to 106.0 to 106.1. Thanks in advance, and I hope this makes sense.

You should not have any problems using your radio in Euro setting in the US.

I had my car in Europe for several years before moving back to the US. The only thing you notice with the Euro setting when tuning a radio is that sometimes you pick up the "side band" or "ghost" stations where a stations signal wonders beyond its assigned frequency. This only happens when at the extream edge of the stations broadcast area.

The traffic function won't work since no stations here (that I know of use that feature) but all of the RDS functionality still works perfectly.

Overall, the radio works fine here in Euro mode and I have left it that way.

I think the radio on the E90 looks for all possible stations with good signal strength (under All Stations) automatically, would assume that in Europe, if the best signal comes from 106.0 then that's what will show up on All stations, no?

I am military and the AFN(Armed Forces Network) is 106.0 and 107.0. With my US radio I can only pick it up when real close to base.

AFN does not broadcast on much power. I know in Korea, you couldn't get it more than a few miles outside the gates of the base.

In Germany, I don't recall the range being all that great either.

The problem is AFN in Italy transmitts on 106.0 and 107.0 My dealer said in the past 330s, you held the manual button(not sure which button)in and it gave you the oppurtunity to switch to .05 spacing. I guess no one knows how to do this on the E90.
