trading in 05 325i for 04 525i: questions
I currently own a 5 speed 2005 325i.
Due to a change in family circumstances the 325i is now a little cramped for my needs. I have located a CPOed 2004 525i witk 9K miles. Is ther much difference in backseat space? Any downsides to this car? The car is a 6 speed with: Cold Weather Package Premium Package Xenon Headlights Satellite Radio Preparation The dealer first asking price is $38,000. Is this a good price? thanks fro any help Last edited by peakpro; 07-30-2005 at 07:40 PM. |

You should measure the 525 and see if it has enough room to suit your needs, but yeah, it should have more room than your current 325
You might also look at a new (2006) 325i. I think it has more room than your current car, and for $38K I bet you could get one......

I think 525i should have significantly more room than the 05 330i. SIt in both and try on yourself =)
I am considering getting a 06 and think 38k for a 2004 model is high. For ED (euro delivery), you can get a brand new 06 525i for a little more than 40k, and get exactly what you want. Euro invoice is 36.7k, + Plus you have a newer engine and some other new features (see the top sticky for product updates and latest ED prices). Also if you are a BMWCCA member you get $1000 back vs. $500 for CPO =P Personally, unless the dealer can give you a better deal, I rather choose my own options and do the ED program. Or unless ED is not an option for you... |

Dealer has lowered the price to 36.5K....Do you think I can get it even lower? I sure the market is not that hot for a manual/dark green 2004 525i. |

I think you should be able to go a little lower. Also depends on how the options/colors fits you. To me the cold weather package isn't too useful since I live in CA, and I prefer to choose my own color.
Also, the newer 525i has the newer 215HP 3.0L engine, which should feel faster. Also, does the 04 525i comes with 16" wheel? The 06 one has 17" even for a 525i. So little things here and there makes me wanna buy a new 06 instead, unless the price difference is alot... =P |
