Yet another Newbie, with a thank you...

Hello, all! I just wanted to post a quick note here and kind of introduce myself as a newly-minted BMW owner.

I recently bought a 2003 330i in jet black. Ever since I was about 12 (I'm 35 now) I wanted a BMW but somehow never got into one. Before this, the closest I got was deciding between a new 98 M3 and a new 98 Mustang Cobra (both convertibles). The Cobra won out, mainly due to the $18k price difference. Oddly, I always tended to gravitate toward Mustangs, even though the E46 was much quicker. Had I only known it was simply a matter of using 93 octane in the E46. If only I used 93 in my Cobra. Huh.

So I've had the car about a month now and love the thing, even though I wash it more than I wash my two-year-old son. It's easy to love a black car, but it doesn't always love you back...not unlike dating a German chick.

Anyway, I also wanted to post a thank you for the folks here contributing such valuable information. I was so used to Sirius radio in my other cars that not having had it in the BMW was driving me nuts. The dealer wanted north of $600 to put it in, but as this site turned me on to Circle BMW and had plenty of DIY info I took a half hour and installed it myself for a little over $200. The remaining money went into my schnapps budget (as a Mustang owner I had gotten used to drinking PBR, and man is this schnapps thing killing me...).

Keep up the great site!

Goalie
