BMW TIS Software. What is it?

Hello everyone, it's my first time being on this helpful forum...

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I currently downloading the BMW TIS Software 2005 CD and EKS CD or something. Could anyone tell me what does the TIS software do?

What i really want to do is to remove the door panel and get access to the door speaker on my 120i. Does the TIS software has instruction steps to do it?

Thank you so much...

TIS is service instructions, which include all the proper torque values.

ETK is the electronic parts catalog (acronym comes from German name, English would be EPC).

Anyone know where I can get an update for TIS & ETK? My version is only current through Jan. 04 and I need to update it.

Thx,

TIS Troubles

I got a TIS (January 2005) and have not been able to do a thing with it. Is there another program needed to open or install to get the info. Any help would be appreciated.

What makes you think they would be on the TIS? It's not a service manual. It's just a diagnostic aid.

You need to run the Sysadm file before you can install the TIS file. Should all be on the CD

Actually shows required steps (not too detailed) how to do just about anything. You just need to have the right software Sysadm.

Good find. Does not cover the E85/E86 M S54 powered Z4. Go to the E46 M3 section for most of the common mechanical components.
