F22 / F23 2 Series (2014 - Current)
The 2 Series coupe is the replacement for the E82/E88 1 series coupe. Production starts in November 2013 on the 228i (N20) and M235i (N55) coupes. Look for them in dealerships in February 2014. The convertible F23 2 series will follow in the fall of 2014.

Thanks for posting this! I have an Audi A4 and will be getting a BMW M240i in a couple of weeks (it's on a boat right now and should be here first week of November). I looked it up and saw that the 2-series is considered the most reliable BMW. More impressively, BMW is up 4 spots.

Yeah 2 series last few years CR has raved about including reliability. Why is it better then 3 or 4 series?? They use same engines & electronics... hmmm

Golly Mr. Science, if wasn't for the wheel, my dad would have to drag his car to work!

I think the 2 series reliability is higher than 3 or 4 because there is a smaller fan base and better attention by owners to maintenance. Plus the short history of the car. 3 and 4 series are owned by EVERYONE while the 2 series is more of an enthusiast model IMHO.

I've been told our M240i should arrive tomorrow or Thursday, but since my wife's out of town, we can't pick it up until Saturday. I know the website's usually a bit slow in updating, but it still says the car is on its way to the US. If it arrives today or tomorrow, it should have already arrived in Oxnard and been processed through customs and should now be on a truck to the dealership. Oh, the anticipation...

The fewer e-toys, the more reliable. It's all the toys that hit the reliability records of the higher end models.

Totally agree with the fewer e toys comment. CR has for years noted how mechanical reliability is only part of what makes a vehicle reliable. Many vehicles have been downgraded based on high-tech electronics, just ask Ford a few years ago.
In addition, the Leipzig factory where the 2 series cars are built has an excellent reputation.
