Anyone know if the gas guzzler tax for the 550 is $1000.00 or $1300.00 ?

Didn't gas guzzler go away? In 2004, it used to be on the E60 545i with SMG but in 2005, that went away.

Anway, it isn't so much a gas guzzler IMO: I get 19/24 on my 545i/SMG

Lobby your congressmen to either abolish Gas Guzzlers tax which currently does NOT apply to gas guzzling SUV's because they are "trucks" used by the workers.

Don't anyone of you with political connections find it ludicrous that a 14mpg SUV's pay ZERO gas guzzlers tax while the 24/19 M3's pay $1000?

My paperwork is written up with $1000 but I haven't paid yet (apart from the deposit of course) - are they going to try and collect the $1300 and if so, do I have a leg to stand on in not paying it?

Point to the contract/paperwork and say, "See!" If the dealership screwed up and you are forced to pay, ask them for something in return for their oversight.
