F22 / F23 2 Series (2014 - Current)
The 2 Series coupe is the replacement for the E82/E88 1 series coupe. Production starts in November 2013 on the 228i (N20) and M235i (N55) coupes. Look for them in dealerships in February 2014. The convertible F23 2 series will follow in the fall of 2014.

New 2018 M240i Owner

I picked up my 2018 M240i just before Thanksgiving. I'm back in the BMW club once again. I love this car... I traded in my 2013 Lotus Evora S for it.

Thank you... I am truly enjoying it thus far. I've already ordered the DinaTronics Sport Tuner as well. I figure a little more HP/TQ won't hurt. I'm excited to get it and get it all installed.

Nice ride! But how come no navigation system in a m240i?

You can have it if you'd like to pay for the option. I always use my phone, which pairs with the bluetooth anyway, so I didn't want it. I believe it's a $1700 add also. Again, I rarely use navigation and I simply use my phone when I do. Thus I didn't want it. I only have the backup and park assist option. ($500 Add). I tried to find the most simply (minimal adds) M240i possible. My only disappointment was that I couldn't find the white with red interior. I really wanted that combo, but it was custom order only for me. I didn't want to wait months and months for the car. Plus the holiday incentives were awesome. I basically got 7k off of the one on the lot. It was an amazing deal from my perspective.

Congrats to you!
Is that a carbon fiber spoiler?

I enjoy my daily driver 2017!
12K miles and no issues.

Yes it is. It was on the car as purchased. Aren't they stock like that? I just assumed as I didn't see an add for it on the window sticker.

Could be standard for 2018. It wasn't an option for 2017.

I did buy the carbon fiber mirror caps.

I'm not sure if I like the grey or not... I have a friend that will wrap them in Carbon Fiber for me. Best of all, he uses remnants so it's free. Gotta love free. I was actually thinking about paying him to do the entire roof as well. I definitely like the carbon look.

Congratulations. I am guessing you were able to get such a great deal because it didn't have Nav. Probably a customer ordered car who backed out and didn't take delivery. Most folks who spend the money on an M240 would prefer Nav, so everything worked well for you. Enjoy!

I was going to order one without NAV. Only change would have been to have the coral red interior. Then I saw long wait times for delivery and would lose holiday deals. I ended up driving 3 hrs, each way, to get the one I purchased.

Great discount! On a 2018 model? It is still 2017.
Yes, I had to wait 3 months for my order.
There wasn't any model on the lot to test drive back in early 2017.

I did buy a Cravenspeed tow hitch front plate holder, as I didn't want holes drilled into
the front bumper. Don't know if CA requires front plates. I did have to pop out a sensor
in the front bumper that was behind the plate. Mounted below the plate.

To clarify the incentives...
4.5K off by dealer discount
1k for recent college grad
500 for military
1k for owner loyalty (prior 750LI owner)

I believe the dealer discount was just due to Black Friday week discounts. The three dealers I spoke with told me to expect 3-4 months for delivery providing nothing went wrong. I had read about some waiting longer when port issues arose. Thus I searched for one close enough to what I wanted. I drove 3 hours to do this deal and then 3hrs back home enjoying the ride.

CA definitely requires the front license plate. I tend to play the odds and not install until ticketed for it. At the airport, I simply put the license on the front dash/window. Never got anything doing that. Otherwise, I do what you've done and use the tow mount to add the plate. Much better looking without it though.

Looking at your front, sttkailua... I'm noticing the M on your grill. Did that come stock? I don't have it. Door sills, rims, back and other spots are all marked, but I do like the addition to the grill. If it's not stock, please let me know where you got it.

Bought logo on Amazon.
Amazon has a variety of M logo add ons. YouTube has videos on removing the front grill.
Helps if you also have small hands to go in behind the grill. Pop out grill, put on the M logo.
Be careful not to over bend the plastic body moldings. Post pics if you add this!

I see you owned the 750. It is a large cruiser compared to your 240 coupe! The M240
ride will not be as smooth, though it will be more fun!

Great car and welcome back to BMW.

Just a suggestion. I would opt for the Dinan Stage 1 Elite rather than the Dinan Sport. I think overall you'll be happier w/ the performance and the normal operation of the car, plus keep full warranty coverage on your car.

I have the Stage 1 and could not be happier. My BMW dealer is also Dinan dealer, so the install was done in their shop. Should I have any issues (unlikely), I can just bring the car back to them for resolution. Your car will be fully covered w/ the Elite, unlike the Sport.

I thought about it, but figured I could always sell the Sport later if I decided to go with Elite. For now I donít want to much invested as I plan on upgrading/replacement after 3yrs anyway. Iím thinking an M3 or M4 is a better fit for me, but I didnít want that big of a payment right now.

I had the same discount on my M235i about 2 years ago in December. Now is the time to get huge discounts on inventory M240i's if you can find them on a dealer lot near you. Congratulations on your outstanding purchase!
