Only with the cold weather package (60/40 rear seats).

The rear arm rest comes with all of the variations. I think, though, that there is an "upgraded" version that has a pull-out cup holder, but I don't know which package it comes with. My 325i with SP & PP only has the basic version.

The nicer version (with the cup holder) comes with cars that do not have the ski pass/fold down seats.

Same here but on a 325i. SP and PP, no CWP, no split/folding rear seats... No cup holder rear arm rest.

Interesting, sorry then for the misinformaton. I have 325i CWP, and I have the no cupholder armrest. My father's 325xi w/o fold downs or ski pass does have cup holder/storage bin built in(production date 2 wks apart) so I assumed that was the difference. (edit: early 2k1 production)

Ah ha! I think that is the key... Might only be available on the "X" cars. I'll have to dig out my brochure and see if it says anything about the cup holder rear arm rest.

Wagons have the rear cupholders and a small storage tray.

my 2002 325xi (no fold down, no ski stuff) has no rear arm rest at all. (this thread made me go check)

I've got leatherette...maybe that has something to do with no arm rest

Gotta read those footnotes.................."subject to change"

I think by design only the wagons are to have the nice cup holders (and storage try too). Basic arm rest is to be with fold down BUT I think it is sometimes easier during assembly to just keep them going. Also they change inclusion of certain things mid-year as we have all seen.

Another example would be the nets on the back of the front seats. According to the literature and order guide (for 02s at least) they were to only come with leather. Well I got 'ette and I got them. Maybe some items are like the tires................a lottery

BMWs are like a box of chocolates...

You never know what you're gonna get.

My '02 325i, SP, PP, 'ette has the basic rear arm rest... who wants Slurpee encouragement units anyway? I need to start a campaign to banish any and all drinks from car interiors.

My car does, however, have the nets behind the front seats despite the brochure saying they shouldn't be there.
