E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

I have a 1990 325i someone has cut the plug off of the radio and wired in a 10 year old pioneer. The radio that was installed wouldn't turn off with the key, so i pulled it out and found the remote wire and began to remove the other wires to install a newer one. Now i can't seem to figure out what is what. I printed off the diafram that was above this post but i can't seem to figure out what to do with the speaker wires. Is there an oem amp in the car? Should i bypass it? What is an easy fix? i am somewhat affluent with aftermarket radios and harnesses but i cant seem to figure this one out. I need some help here guys, i know you know what you are talking about fill me in.

It's the common ground that's probably throwing you off, I'm no expert but I have been doing my own installs for over 12 yrs and worked in a shop for a while. I got ticked with mine and just rewired all the speakers.

Are you sending power to the factory amp? (white wire). I thought I had everything wired correctly but was not getting any sound. I did have the speakers wired correctly, but was not turning the amp on. Connect the white wire to your radios remote power wire, and I'll bet you'll have it.

Yeah, like Just Bryce I also said screw the old wiring and rewired everything myself along with a new amp, sounds great now.
I think the old wiring degrades over time and causes noisy problems anyways.
The way they did the ground wires are odd.
