Hi Folks,
Has anyone installed a CD player/changer recently..
Should i have to go to a dealer to do this or can it be done by any shops which sells and fits those players..? or can i do it myself..

What year is your car? Are there any "Prewired for CD Changer" labels in the trunk? We'll need this info to further assist you.

Regards.....JL

If the car is a 1996 and up its prewired for the BMW CD changer. All the connectors are in the trunk. You can buy one from the Bimmerfest Classifieds or Ebay. If you are not a techie a car stereo place can install it. I'd avoid going to the "Stealer" as much as possible.

Mine is a 94 and it is prewired.

96 is when they switched to the bus type head unit and changer combo.

Yes adding a CD changer is an easy DIY.
