"Strong-arming" a BT phone

I found this post on another forum and thought I would share. This guy bought his new bimmer and then found out that his BT phone was not on "the list". He was able to make it work.... and it just happens to be the phone that I'm looking at buying:

His Post

My question... does anyone know how to access the BT Module on an e60 in order to get the "passkey" number?

You don't need to. You assign the passkey through the iDrive. Then the phone pairs with the car. Compatibility is mainly an issue with transferring the phone book from the phone to the car.

According to his post the passkey is shown on the BT module. How would YOU determine the passkey number so that you could assign it through iDrive?
