I want a 335d NOW!

I read the news of the X3 3.0sd with its massive torque (580Nm), power (286hp) and the consumption of small city car. It is coupled to the refined 6-speed AT that reduces the shift time and also is more efficient than the manual tranny.

With simple math I derive that the 335d will do 0-100km/h in 6.1s and has grunt to push you in your seat with brutal strength as from 1250rpm, equal or superior to a good old big block V8.

Although the 335i and M3 will be marvellous, I dream more of this realistic and more "affordable" sports sedan. You Americans should really start asking for these Diesels!

As I can believe my salesrep, the 335d will be presented still this year for delivery early 2007.

Yea, it would be sweet...

Don't blame us. It's California's fault.

Out of curiousity, will there be a 335d E92 also or only an E90?

From the American Lung Association

Diesel Exhaust and Asthma
Diesel exhaust ranks among the air pollutants that EPA believes pose the greatest public health risks. Exposure to diesel exhaust can cause lung damage and respiratory problems. Diesel exhaust can also exacerbate asthma and existing allergies, and long-terms exposure is thought to increase the risk of lung cancer.

How are Children Affected?
Air pollution from diesel vehicles has health implications for everyone, but children may be more susceptible to this pollution because they breathe 50 percent more air per pound of body weight than adults. Diesel exhaust contains small particles, known as fine particulate matter, as well as smog-forming and toxic air pollutants. Exposure to these pollutants is associated with increased frequency of childhood illnesses and can trigger asthma episodes.

Except the 2-liter diesel, all are standard equiped with effective filters. No more black smog when you step on it. Although it strongly reduces the negative side effects, I agree that it is still not as healthy as gazoline.

Anyway, it reduces the cost of ownership in our country impressively! An M3 will cost DOUBLE in usage than a 335d will (/km travelled) which brings about the same cost as a 325i.

So, when I use my wallet as guiding constraint (since my ambitions are infinite when it concerns cars), I can optimize my experience seriously with the 335d.

There will also be a e92 variant and probably also an e93 (not sure though).

I know what you mean but this:

"I agree that it is still not as healthy as gazoline"

must become the quote of the month
