Alpina B10 4.0 touring...

found on mobile.de for sale at about Euro 17,000. Only 49 B10 4.0 Alpinas were made. Out of that, 4 B10 4.0 touring in the world.

What are the specs on that car? HP? And that specific car? Miles/kms?

That's only about US$16000. How much does it cost to EPA certify a grey market car?

The E34 M5Ts I've seen lsited here in the US were all going for mid to upper $30Ks. This wagon is almost a steal. What's the catch?

Slushbox, I think.

I was having a conversation about this with somebody (may have been Vince, or one of my other off-board friends).

Alpina (along with Hartge and some of the other complete-vehicle tuners) build these very limited, essentially hand-built cars, then do very little about providing service information and/or parts afterthefact. This can make maintenance and repair difficult if not impossible. I believe Alpina will tell you they will be happy to work on it... if you send the car back to them...

If I were to actually buy something like this to drive and not to have as a part of my collection ( ) I'd take a ///M5T over it.

WOW, im almost tempted myself, that is a steal. Only 49 made, BUY IT. Although it is amazing how dated the old E34 interior looks.

Well, mobile.de is the heaven for Alpina collectors. There was an article in BMW Car recently where a Brit imported a 30th anniversary Alpina B3 3.0 from Germany into Great Britain. Quite a lot of "red-tapes", but worth the effort.

As of now, I am not sure who has done it in the US. Perhaps KSK can provide some details on imporitng an Alpina. Last I heard, someone in Florida imported a B10 Biturbo.

This particular has 160000km. Can't seem to find anything about whether it's auto or manual. But translator produced this:

Description: Check book-maintained, aluminum rims, ASR, climate, theft
warning system, computer / travel computer, separation lattice, ABS, Zentralverr.
with Fernbed., Parktronic (PTS), sport seats, seat heating in front, baggage
compartment cover, Fahrerairbag, double sun roof, automatic, anthracite coal,
section leather, B10 4, 0 Touring, dark sapphire met, leather material,
combination Alcantara darkness, black sky, Executive pack, climatic automatic,
17"Alpina, large Alpina brake, and more, check book gepfl

Some interesting bits of B10 4.0:
315bhp, 410Nm, 4.0L V8.

For more info: http://www.users.wineasy.se/aahl/e34.html (click on left menu).

Btw did you guys know that there was a B10 3.0 allrad? Ultra-rare AWD E34.

Looking carefully at the the picture, it looks like a slushbox. I see a thin line running down the center, rather than a nice big leather pit.
