Do you need to reset the complete car?
I just picked up a 05 645ci and love it but wierd things are already happening. The car has 9000 miles on it. When I was playing with the navi, it all of a sudden restarted and paused. Then it took a while after you press the idrive button.
1. My question, since this is my first bimmer, is there any way to reset all the cars info? Im wondering if the car is memorized to the old owner (ie: tranmission, driving way etc)? 2. Why did the navi restart? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had one in 10 months with same symptom. Seemed like I did something unusual at the time just preceding this incident, but do not remember what.
If u want to take car to dealer to reset the tranny u may as well do a software upgrade which should do the same thing. List the NAV reset as an issue and see if u have any other issues reported on this forum.
