No... spy photos have been around for some time... try the search tool. We won't see anything official until much later this year. The new X5 will be out for MY07. It will be bigger with a third row seat option. Base will be the 3.0L from the current E90 with 255hp and a V8 with 340hp. We will also get the diesel, probably in the second year. Always search first... there is plenty of speculation on this already.

Sorry mate. The pics that I've seen seems to be the old photoshop pics. Since it is already 2006, I thought someone might have some update on the new X5.

Great pic... if only it was clear. Certainly there is a better quality source with this pic out there... has anyone seen it?

Is that really the next generation X5? The back looks very similar to the present one.

Someone said that the next X5 will not have any 3rd row of seats as an option? Anyone heard anything about this? I hope not.

I suspect it will have two temporary seats in the boot that can be lifted up when needed. It's not big enough to have 7 permanent seats (I hope).

Guess it will be something simular to the XC90 from Volvo.
Good for kids.
Did talk to my dealer last week he told me that the new X5 would arrive in the mid or late 2007...

I doubt anyone would really expect some sort of large comfort seats at 3rd row but two small one which can fit their kids would be good. I sure hope that the new X5 will allow the 3rd row option.

If the upcoming next gen X5 does not offer 3rd row seats then will you consider a volvo XC90 or Audi Q7?

I surely hope so. I don't think BMW has to compromise the handling of the X5 by making it too big/long in order to fit the 3rd row of seats. Just put 2 optional small seats at the trunk area so that people can fit their kids at the back of the car while the adults can sit in the middle row. My 2 cents worth.

From the last photo, do you think the trunk area is capable of putting a 3rd row of seats?

LeMansX5, thanks for the link. Does the 2nd pic show the 3rd row of seats (which are covered by some white plastic wrap)?
