'94 318is No dash gauges Help Please!

This morning going to work everything was good. Then when leaving work, No tacho, no speedo, no fuel, no temperature, no fuel economy guage, no oddometer, no tripometer. But everything else seems to work. Why would this happen suddenly? Checked the fuses, all seems in order. What should I do next? Take it to BMW service centre, or auto electrician? Had this car since end September '05. So a bit new to me. OK hope to hear from someone!

when i got my 325is only the gas guage and speedo worked, when taken apart and tried to get tac and engine temp to work, when the cluster got put back in, nothing worked as described by you. took to the dealership, told to get a new cluster, ($700 quote for parts, not including labor), got a new cluster at a junk yard out of another bmw, everything worked, that only costed $100.

my fiance does all the work on my car, replacing it only takes about 5 - 10 minutes. he did it in a parking lot while i was at work.

No dash guages

Saw an Auto Electrican today. No joy there! Have to see an Instrument Electrican on Monday because of shutting down over Christmas - New Years break. This is getting sadder by the day, all I can see is dollar signs?

my guages goes on and off once in a while... no idea what's causing it, but i've just left it alone. sometimes it'll all turn off, car runs fine, but no idea how fast i'm going or anything... after a few minutes, it comes right back.

Sometimes when I start the car in the morning the tach will freeze for about 30 seconds, nothing too major.

dash gauges

I have been to or rang up a few auto electrics this week. Some have been recommended by the ones that cannot help, but when you go there they say no they cannot do it. I have been from pillar to post. I might have to ring BMW service centre next week. But I am a little scared, I can see dollar signs floating in the air, you know what I mean. No body wants to touch it.

Instrument cluster

Finally got a new cluster, they say that you can't fix the modules. Very happy I am on the road again! Now I have a problem with the passenger side window. It won't work but you can hear the motor trying to move. Got quoted $350 for reconditioned window motor, surely there is another way. I have to take the door apart and see if I can nut something out.

go to a salvage yard... usually you can find an old motor for less than 100 bucks
