TMS Prepares For Grand Am Cup And World Challenge
Amesbury, MA - January 17, 2006 - The 2006 Grand Am Cup season begins next week and Turner Motorsport again prepares to dominate! This year's driver lineup is unparalleled and includes past race winners at Daytona, Sebring, Nurburgring, Spa, and the Petit Le Mans as well as drivers with several years of experience racing at Le Mans. With returning sponsors H&R Springs and StopTech Brakes, 2006 will be a very big year for the two-time World Challenge Champions.

The first event on the schedule will be the Grand Am Cup 200 at Daytona International Speedway on January 27. Round 1 of the SCCA World Challenge season kicks off March 15 at Sebring Raceway.

The Grand Am Cup series will visit nine circuits in 2006. After the Daytona opener, the team will head to Laguna Seca, Phoenix, Lime Rock Park, Mid-Ohio, Barber Motorsports Park, Trois-Rivieres, the new Miller Motorsports Park, and finish the season at Virginia International Raceway. TMS won races at five of those venues in the 2005 season.

The 2006 World Challenge season will be a 10-race season traveling around North America and will include stops in Sebring, Mid-Ohio, Infineon/Sears Point Raceway, Road America, Mosport, Road Atlanta, and Laguna Seca Raceway. TMS drivers have won races on four of those circuits in past years.

An announcement on the 2006 World Challenge driver lineup will follow.

In Grand Am Cup, Will Turner and Don Salama return to the ST class in the #95 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs BMW 330i. Turner and Salama are an unceasing threat to the 30+ competitors in each ST race. They are aiming straight for the top spot in 2006 after finishing runner-up in the overall championship for the last two years. Turner and Salama have teamed up for ten podiums and 19 top ten finishes in 20 races.

Returning to the GS class in the #96 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs/StopTech Brakes BMW M3 is five-time Grand Am Cup winner Bill Auberlen. Last year, Auberlen won half of the races on the GS-class schedule. The 37-year old Daytona and Sebring winner has been wearing Turner Motorsport blue and yellow since 2001 and he looks forward to continuing his winning ways in 2006. His co-driver in the #96 M3 will be veteran sports car pilot Chris Gleason, whose career highlights include a class podium in the 24 Hours of Daytona and several top ten in-class finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Gleason has been racing BMWs regularly in Rolex Grand Am events since 2000 and began his competition career in 1973. His racing resume includes formula-style cars as well as Trans Am and IMSA sports car achievements.

Turner Motorsport will be entering a second BMW M3 in GS for 2006. The #97 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs/Under Armour M3 will be piloted by Boris Said and Anders Hainer. In 2005, Said and Hainer teamed up for two podium finishes in four races while driving the Under Armour-sponsored E46 M3. Said is a veteran and accomplished road racer with success in some very diverse machinery. He is a factory BMW driver with an overall victory in the 2005 Nurburgring 24 Hour race (the first American driver to win overall) and a road racing specialist in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series). His co-pilot will be Anders Hainer, a rising star in Porsche Club events since the mid-1990s. In 2004 he took his driving talent to the next level and entered Grand Am Cup racing in a Nissan 350Z. Success came right away with a win and several podiums. In 2005 he raced a BMW M3 to three top five finishes in eight races.

In addition to Turner Motorsport Inc, H&R Springs, StopTech Brakes, and Under Amour - B&M Racing, Moly Shield Oil, Borla Exhaust, Pagid, Motul, and Piloti Driving Shoes will be assisting the team this year. Products from each of these companies are proudly used on the TMS racecars and have been proven winners in years past.
