today's mod.. alcantara e-brake handle

from the guys over at LeatherZ of course.

*grunts* Alcantara good!

I wonder if it weighs less than the leather? I could have just saved a gram! It's like 5hp per gram of weight savings, right?

Very nice looking mod. How long did it take to complete? Any install process pictures?

Oh, maybe an hour or so. The kit from LeatherZ comes with the entire lever, since the handle doesn't separate from it.

I lost the install instructions from LeatherZ, but it was a breeze to figure out.

The first step is to remove the center console area. The instructions for that can be found on Adam's Bluetooth Install page:
here

You'll need a deep 10mm socket to remove the two nuts on the end of long bolts which are actually connected to the ebrake. You have to remove a little clip that holds a the ebrake sensor wire on. From there, there are 3 13mm bolts that hold the lever itself on. Everything else is the reverse . There is just a zip tie holding your existing boot to the lever, you simply cut it and use a new zip tie to attach the boot to your new handle.

I used the opportunity to hand wash my ebrake boot in the sink with some woolite, as well as washing down the entire center console area. That added some time to the install.

Your E-brake kinda looks like a fuzzy little woodland creature . You should put a stuffed animal head on the button or something to complete the transformation.

alcantara steering wheel

Do you know if Leather Z can put Alcantara on a steering wheel? I drove the Mercedes CLS55 AMG with an Alcantara steering sheel that was awesome. THanks
