Help!! Door Won't Close

Anybody ever experienced the following problem or know how to fix??
I had to get something out of my 330ci tonight and opened the door without any problem, but when I tried to close it, it woudn't close properly. When I shut the door it "bounces" back, like its not catching something. So basically, I can't drive anywhere because the door won't stay shut. Tomorrow is Sunday so unless I can figure out what's wrong, I'm sh*t out of luck until Monday when I can call the dealer. If anyone has any ideas, I would really really appreciate it. Thanks.

The latch is probably frozen. Try holding the door shut and then locking it. That used to do the trick on the beater I had in high school, and its much easier than running a strap between the two doors.

When i had my coupe i had the same problem, it was some little clip that broke and wont allow the door to shut all the way so it looks like you didnt close it hard enough. No biggie unless your car is out of warranty.

thanks guys for the responses. Unfortunately , the situation is somewhat worse now, in that the door is now closed, but I am unable to open it! So, I have to exit out of the passenger's side door. Somewhat awkward but at least I can drive the car without holding the door shut. I guess I'll have to take it in to the dealer tomorrow. And my warranty expired a couple of years ago...

I think cwsqbm was right Its cold inToronto today but the sun has been out and the door now works! I had an "inside, outside" wash yesterday, so it must have been that the latch froze but everthing is cool now. Crisis averted.

Is your window frozen "UP", being a fellow Canadian this happens all the time. I leave my windows down about 1/16 of an inch in the winter so the window does not freeze up inside the roof trim that holds the window. Seeing as you had a car wash recently, that would be my first guess!
