What's up with adding air to tires with HREs?

Before I left to go out of town this weekend, I tried to put air in my tires. Because the valve stem is recessed into the HREs, it was a REAL PAIN IN THE A$$!!!

I had to get these stupid extensions and then most gas stations did not have a chuck that would work right with the extensions. I ended up going to a tire store that sells as lot of HREs and they had a chuck that worked okay.

Just thought I would vent and maybe someone has a suggestion...

Sounds like the shop put the wrong valve stems on. They should have put longer ones in.
