Anybody running Toyo Proxes 4?

I know tires have been run to death on the board....no pun intended......But anyone running these. Love to get some feed back.
It's kinda down to the Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S,Bridgestone Potenza. Michelins too much. I do like the tread pattern on the Toyo's and they have pretty good reviews.
Thanks

Hello,

I have run the Proxes 4 for the last 2+ years. Installed on my 540i as replacement for original Dunlop's (which were shot at under 20,000 miles). The Proxes 4 handle much better than the OEM tires and have better tread life. I now have 26,000 miles on the Proxes 4 and will replace with the same tire when these are done.

I put them on my wife's 330Cic, but we barely have 500 miles on them yet so not a whole lot to report. They are insanely quiet and feel very comfortable. Might be a bit of a soft sidewall compared to the T1S/T1R, but it's an all season so that is to be expected.

I have a set on my 540. I never buy anything but Mich, but these could change my mind. They're round, quiet, reasonably sticky, keep their balance, and otherwise well behaved. very cost effective IMO.

I normally buy miche...but when I went to store where I normally buy my tires from and spoke to the salesman (so of friend) told me why spending another 70 for mich...when i could get a good set from toyo.....he was so sure about the tire that he gave the deal of buying it the toyo and if for some reason I did not like or have any problem he will help me for the different on the miche....so I replaced all with the toyo and they seem great so far...very smoth...very soft...almost not sound....Let see how it continue and how long they will last...although i feel funny not having miche...on bimmer for the first time....

I've on been running these tires for about 1500 miles and they are the best set of tires I've ever owned. 99 528i You won't be disappointed.

I bought my 530 used and it came with a set of toyo proxes 4. I can't vouch for thread life, but I can tell you that they are quiet at speed.

beemster,

I just got them about 2 weeks ago and I guess they are fine. I only have them in the front but I did notice the bumps aren't as noticeable and they are very quiet.

I like them so far!

HEY there are 2 of me!! See #2 post, HUH

There must be something wrong with yours. Ours are fantastic in the rain. Feel the same as when it's dry out.

Definitely have to agree with that, have them on my 540iA, and they're great in dry weather and rain.

im running the proxies on mine also. no complaints. cant say that theyre great in the snow, but then again, what tire is unless theyre dedicated snows. all around, great tire and priced well. would def buy again unless i go summer/winter setup.

My 08Accord V6 Coupe OEM tires had only 3/32 remaining before I settled on replacements- the Toyo Proxes 4. What a mistake! These are possibly the worst tires I have owned for a passenger car. Should have bought Kuhmo Platinum like I had on my Lexus SC430 - my mistake and one I will never repeat. Tires are loud, wear fast, slip on cornering in light rain... way overpriced and overrated. Can't imaging who user/car combination is rating these high - but I feel for it and now hope to alert others to my mistake.

Mein Auto: 2001 540i 6 speed sport,
didn't like the Toyos

Well I have to say. I had 2 sets of F1 eagles on my car (summer),Mechelins for winter. When the F1's wore out and I was about due for new winter tires I thought I would try the Toyos as an all season alternative. I drive a lot of highway miles. I thought these tires were so unpredictable at speed especially side to side quick movements that I actually returned them ! put about 400 miles on them it was the first time I did not truly trust my car! this was summer on dry roads. I also can tell you I was there when they were removed and the sidewalls are softer than most. I have 237,000 miles on my car ( I bought it with 50K in 2006). so much for all season radials, I went with Hankook ventus K12 EVO's. excellent tires, as good as the eagles on dry and wet roads, seem to be wearing better ,can't beat Michelin alpins for winter.
car is a 540i sport 6 speed

I used to run Proxes 4s all the time. I have Pirellis now and am not a fan. They came with the wheels in a a swap. I will go back to Toyos. To me, they are one of the best values out there.

i have them on my 19s. they are fairly quiet and the treadwear is decent. grip wise they leave a lot to be desired vs. my old hankook ventus v12 k110 evos but then again the proxes are an all season. not to mention a lot cheaper than the hankooks. i wouldn't buy them again though. i'm going back to the hankooks for my next tires

Anybody running Toyo Proxes 4?

We have had 3 sets of toyo proxe 4s on our old maxima, 98 Chevy Tahoe and my 528i. An amazing tire with great performance, low road noise and long lasting tread. Ive also used toyo t1 sport tires on my 528i which blow the proxe 4 out of the water when it comes to grip but the tread wear on the t1 sports are horrible.... Thats a trade off that I most likely wont be making again

Smile Toyo Proxes tires

When I got my 535i, I threw out a perfectly good set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tires and fitted a set of Toyo Proxes T1R tires.
Never regretted it either.
