Smile February 2006 3 Series Sales Report

February sales of the new 3 Series exceeded 9,000 units which is a 27.3% increase from the total sold in February, 2005. This year almost all the units sold were the new E90 series while last year’s sales were all of the E46. Total sales of 17,686 units for the first two months of 2006 represents a 24.4% sales increase when compared to the total sold in the first two months of last year.

For comparison, Mercedes Benz sold only 2,976 C Class units in February 2006, down 26.0% from the 4,020 units sold last February.

Lexus IS 250/350 sales totaled 3,882 units this month, an increase of 807% over the 428 IS300 units sold last February.

Please note that I am report only the United States sales data.

Mein Auto: BMW
BMW 3er: 9,140 (+27.3%); ...... 7,500 of them E90 sedans (2433 of 330; 1,575 of 330i, 858 of 330xi)
Acura TL: 5,169 (-12.9%)
MB C-class + CLK: 4,887 (-10.8%)
Infiniti G35: 4,534 (-24.2%) ... coupe incl.
Cadillac CTS: 4,109 (-6.0%)
Lexus IS: 3,882 (+807%); 1,172 of them IS350
MB C-class: 2,976 (-26%)
Audi A4: 2,533 (-21.9%) ... cabrio incl.

Again we can see E90 sales rising despite competition from the new IS. Meanwhile the sales of the other relevant players are dropping.

My claim is that E90 & new IS are stealing the sales from other competitors' older models, not from each other.
