Exclamation Key Problem (Intialization Procedure)

Bought a blank key from amazon and it came with a remote chip, I tried the procedure to program key with ignition and nothing happened so I removed the new chip and placed the original chip in it from my old key. Now the car starts but won't lock/unlock the car with the remote.

Also the old key never allowed me to unlock the car with the remote. I just thought with a new chip I may be able too but it won't allow me to even start the car with the new chip which is why I switched it over to the old one.

Help please

If you want a key where ALL functions work (and work reliably), you have to go to a BMW dealer and pay the price for a REAL, (authorized) key. When these cars were built, there were ten key blanks issued for each car....you need one of them.
Shop around, key prices can vary by as much as $50, depending on the dealer.
The road goes ever onward....
