Miles on odometer at delivery: how many?
I've got a 330i (5sp/pp/sp/bi-x/18")on order that should be turning up at my dealer in about a month. I've heard stories about people coming in for delivery and finding their car has 33 (or thereabout) miles on it.
Anyone care to contribute how many miles you had on your odometer at delivery? I'm figuring that anyone besides the owner who drives a car before it gets delivered didn't give a rats ass about break-in. If I've see more than a handful of miles, should I give my dealer **** about it? Or is there some good reason for more than 2 miles on the car? Might the VPC or factory need to take it around a track a few time for some testing? I don't mind giving my dealer some heat, I just want to make sure I'm justified! -CMOS

My car came in with 2.
I would be upset if I saw more than ten on it.

My 1997 A4 1.8T - 11 miles My 1999 323iC - 65 miles (the dealer traded with another dealer) My 2001 330i - 9 miles My 1998 M3 - 26,004 miles

Mine came with 8 . . . the dealer I bought my car now preps the car off premises and I didn't want anyone driving my new car so I told the dealer I'd like to pick up the 2003 at the prep center. My salesman said that it wouldn't be a problem . . .
One thing I always worry about when I get a new car is the miles put on by other people because i am worried they will not the apply the same breakin rules I go by. Anyway I've found that most of my new cars usually ranged anywhere from 5-15 miles . . . anything over that would bother me.
