BlueTooth installed in 2004 745LI

I just installed the BMW BTUM blue tooth adaptor kit ( $300--only works on CPT9000 units) in my 2004 745LI.

It works as advertised....I put module in v60 holder of my 04 745LI, paired it with my Motorola Razor, pressed the adapter button & the Razor address book uploaded to idrive. All car phone systems function per spec.

a few tips

-Install is simple..took me 5 minutes. It's just like pairing your phone to a head set or other BT devive

-copy the 6 digit pass key code off the back of the module label before installing & first pairing ( you can't read it once in cradle)

-clean up cell phone address book before initial upload..I think you can unload cell phone periodically, but I havent tried it...it will now "sync"the car with the phone..just a one way upload.

-ping me with any questions

I just bought a 745Li. Do you have any instructions on how to install?

first you copy the key on the back of the BTUM 9000, should be 5 or 6 digits i dont re-call.

then you install it into the phone cradle in your center glove box, press and hold the button on the BTUM until it starts flashing blue. (you should also set your phone to search for blue tooth devices prior to pressing the button)

once your phone has found the BTUM 9000 it should ask you for the key to pair the device to your phone, then its a matter of minutes if not seconds for the upload to be complete.

go to the communications screen on your idrive and see if your address book has been uploaded once it has you have successfully paired your phone to the idrive via BLUE TOOTH......
