April 6 - European Delivery of 2006 e90 - yeah little late
Okay, I took possession of my e90 on April 6. Since then I've been a tad busy and I'm also camera-less. Honestly, I'm a very bad tourist.
Anyway, someone - a very nice girl I flirted with just to get her to snap a pic - took this picture for me. It's my very dirty 330i parked in Nice this morning (April 9). ![]() Not much to say about the car. It's living down to my expectations and I'm deadly certain I will miss my e46 ZHP fiercely for the next two years. Quite simply, this new car's just boring in comparison. Oh well, here's looking toward 08 and the 335i. |

Because I wanted to drive across the Alps on two-lane roads, not a major highway. Yes this made the drive much, much longer. But it was a sensational, beautiful drive and at times exciting beyond all comprehension. Dashing down narrow roads etched into the mountains ( cliffs on one side, rocks/snow on the other) can't be really be compared to anything else. The best part would be glancing down the side of the curvy mountain roads, figuring out when to take the car in front of you so as not to expose yourself to oncoming traffic (or endanger them). Or when you've got open road, just cutting loose on those amazing Sesses - eyes several turns ahead, shaving corners just so that you maintain maximum speed but also so you're not so exposed as to cause a major problem should you not spot a vehicle ahead. F%#king fantastic. I was born to drive these roads. Once I got into Italy I contended with a few miserable hours of slow two-lane roads through towns and then hit rush-hour traffic in some god-awful city. At that point, I switched my Tomtom GPS (GPS is a must for this trip as European roads were obviously built long, long before city planners considered traffic flow) back to the fastest route and headed off on the Autostrada toll roads. They're not as much fun as the backroads but the toll roads in Europe seem to be cop free and pretty wide open to play. I made the next 200 miles in about 2.25 hours - I'm not staying at oiver 100 for long but I have jumped to ~125 a few times. |

Why didn't you get an M3 if the E90 330 is "boring" compared to your E46.
