Engine Sputter
I have a 2006 M3 Coupe with about 4000 miles. Just yesterday the car was running fine. This morning when I stared the car up the service engine light came on and as I started to drive the engine started to sputter. As I depress the gas pedal the car would feel as if it shook a little and is very hard for the engine to rev up. I know there is a recall on ignition coils in past models, but would this have anything to do with newer models? I am planning to take it in for a service on Monday, just wanted to get an idea of whats going on.

One or more of your coils has gone south - see the dealer. No problem - it's a known problem.

Yup, took it to the dealer this morning and got it fixed in about 30 minutes. They replaced all 6 ignition coils. Car is running beautifully!
