What's your monthly payment?

Just leased an E90 (MSRP: $46,865 and I'm paying $608/month) but I wanted to see what you guys are paying per month for your 5ers. Good chance I'll be stepping up to a 5 series next.

Asking what others pay for month is about the same as walking into a dealership and asking what car you can get for a given monthly payment. There are far too many variables to make just the monthly payment relevent to what you might be paying now and expect to pay in the future.

Your E90 was $46,800. Expect a new E60 to be almost $20,000 more, depending on model and options.

What MF did you get on your lease? Any cap cost reduction? Those all affect the monthly payment.

I got a 0.0010 MF on my 545i lease because it was at the end of the model year. If you are willing to time your lease similarly, you can probably see that low a MF again, especially once the new models start hitting the dealerships.

Agree with Bart, too many variables are needed to arrive at a monthly payment so it isn't meaningful to compare at that point. You didn't even mention your lease term and miles or tax rate/situation!

As Bart pointed out, we need to know your MF and Cap Cost and any Cap Cost reduction--hope not! ! We can get your residual easy enough from the askadealer forum but MF and Cap Cost can vary all over the place since those are numbers the dealer adjusts to make his money.

WOW! That's an amazing price. I probably would have gotten the 525i should I have known I would have been spending $187.66 less per month than on my 330i. Although, then again, probably not. Mainly because I wouldn't go with a 215HP engine (simply not enough power for me), but still, that's a great deal.

I could have gotten the 530 for about $50 more; look at Chrischeung's posting above. Drove both and 525 was good enough for the kind of driving I will be doing. There were great lease rates out there on the 2006 525/530 in Dec/Jan especially for 24 month leases on ED.

And phillpek is probably getting the car for free for being a top performer. The $1 is perhaps the lowest amount he can be billed by the computer.

However, for ED - there are other costs

I had to front up about $3K in value for a 10 day vacation in Europe for my wife and I - but that was well worth it. So figure about $125/month for that on a 24 month lease.

And I'm paying for the car for 1.5-2 months whilst it is being shipped. So that is about $35 per month on a 24 month lease. But I get a rebate from BMWCCA for $1000 - about $40/month.

So, my payment of $455 is really a payment of around $575/month + taxes and fees, with the added bonus of a 10 day vacation for 2 in Europe, the choice to configure the car exactly the way I want it, factory tour, and driving in Europe. I'd do it again.

Sorry - correction

$575 includes the taxes - it doesn't include the acquisition, disposition fees, and registration. Those were about $1,000 in total for drive off.

Chris:
A bulk of your up front payment was the refundable security deposit so you should take it out of your calculations for the actual monthly payments.

Actually not

The $1,000 was in addition to the security deposit(s), which totalled $3K, which I do get back. I had to pay $625 for acquisition, and $413.75 in DMV fees for registration (1 year). That makes up $1,038.75.

You should also factor in opportunity cost for the $3K, but we're now getting into the nitty gritty...

In your monthly costs, you have added $125, corresponding to an additional cost of $3000. I am not sure where you are getting the additional cost of $3000. I only see the:
-> Acquisition : $625
-> 1.5 months of extra payments: $680
-> DMV fees (which are going to be there for all cars +- $100)

Everything else is refundable but for the opportunity cost (@5% pa it is $12.50 pm).
What am I missing?

Ah - OK

$3K was for the cost of the vacation. I valued it at:

$1,000 for 2 tickets to Europe
$1,000 for 9 nights of accomodation
$1,000 for 10 days of food and expenses

We used a lot of points for tickets and accomodation, but the above estimates are fair if I had to pay for everything in cash.

If you really wanted to go for the least amount of money, figure just $500 or so for a plane ticket. But then, you're sort of missing the ED point in my opinion.
