NY - NJ - CT - PA Meet: Jones Beach | May 6/7: Who wants to go?

Hello To All,

Due to the rain we had to use our back up location for the NY/NJ meet....had 8 E90's show up anyway...some came as far as PA and CT....Nice meeting all of you

-In any case we called this meet "A Practice or Preview to the next big meet"...

-How many of you who wanted to go but could not due to the rain and or other plans want to go to a new better, bigger meet?

Here is your chance...lets make this happen.

Date:May 6 or May 7
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: Jones Beach Lot 6 or Lot 1

-We decided with the people that came to this meet that for the next one we will all bring food...and have a tailgate type of party....Lets do this right...food,drinks, cool people and nice cars......

arg, weekend of my prom lol. Lets see, my prom is on friday, the 5th... so saturday the 6th is out of the question haha...

I'd say sunday is a better day anyway. 7th sounds like a good day to me.

**PS. in that above pic you posted... whos car is that sexy Mystic Blue 325i? lol, just kidding. All of the cars looked great today, despite the challenges the weather presented us.

Question, is Jones beach open to the public then? I still want to get those cool shots of the jones beach toll booths.

WooHoo...I will actually be in CT that weekend with my car....I have a wedding to attend on May 6 so I will only be able to make it on that Sunday...

Can anyone give me some more info on where this meet is? I live near Waterbury, CT and would like to have an idea of how long the drive will be.

As of now I think the meet will be @ Jones Beach. That is in Long Island.

I live in Norwalk, CT and that drive should take around 1:30 min, depending on traffic. I've made it in an hour.

Waterbury would be about an extra 45 min or so, I think.

The ETA's on these 'google' maps - seem a bit high to me.

yup, deff- we will talk next week. Now I just have to work out my plans so I can go

This thread makes me miss CT, I used to live in Ridgefield right near Norwalk Somehow I ended up in FL about 40 years early as everyone 60+ from that area moves here You guys have fun

-In Regard to the Food.....not sure on the best way to do this...but lets make this as fair as we can.....

Is there a BBQ pit somwhere around the parking lot??

Dencoop, you should clarify for everyone including myself... Is it saturday or sunday? Which of the two fields at Jones Beach is it?

For people who don't know how to get there, MAKE SURE they KNOW not to take the Wantagh parkway because of the Marathon or a lot of pist off people will come (or turn around and not come) to this meet.
Perhaps put that in your signature or in all your posts whenever you update.

Don't you have to pay to get into the Jones Beach lot???

May I suggest moving it a few miles down Ocean Parkway, to the Captree lot?
- Its free and every Sunday morning there's a car show (muscle cars + exotics) that peaks around 9-10am. We can meet there a bit earlier to catch the tail end, and then proceed with our own meet.

Here's a sample of what goes on at Captree on any given Sunday -

PS: There is also a cafe at Captree in case you don't want to cook (although I'm not a fan of the food there)
