Many people just want that roundel on their hood and don't care that they are getting the smallest engine bimmer with little or no options. However, there are those of us who like the design of the 3-series (especially the e46) and actually chose it over the new 5 or e90. We also put the best options we could into the car and even paid cash, heaven forbid. All this for a car that could actually be considered below our means because we understand that a car is a depreciating asset.
I'll agree and disagree with you. There are some of us who can afford a 5 series (paid in cash), would rather have a 5 series, but still opt for a 3 series with the smaller engine because a) Just because you can afford something doesnt mean it makes financial sense and b) we dont plan on racing our car

Also, what do you mean by "best options"? Just because its an upgrade offered by BMW doesnt mean its worth getting. Some people like the sports package, others would pay NOT to have it for the benefit of a smoother ride. Its all personal preference. I wouldnt go around bagging on people who buy a very basic bmw --the smallest engine BMW w/ no options is often times fast and has more options than many other cars.

Heres the agree part: many people do stretch their wallet to lease/buy a car. It happens on BMWs as well as hondas and toyotas and...

i'm not gonna read through 5 pages to find out if anyone said this already but i was reading some european car magazine and it said the 328Ci would start at something around 30,500 euro (i think it was like 30,850 but i don't remember the exact number) - now if you convert that to USD, it comes out at a around $38,000.. which is way more expensive than i thought it would be

Euro pricing has basically NOTHING to do with US pricing.

Rich was told by his dealer that there would be new prices for BMW's today...not necessarily the 335, but could just be new prices for the current models. He's just hoping it's the 335 (as we all are).

Ok well we're a day away...but I usually count on sites like bimmerfest to provide us with the inside scoop before the average joe finds out.

So...any chance of a leak tonight?

Is this what it is like, the day before you are due to take delivery of your car, or is that much worse?

That's much, much worse. This is only pricing. Honestly, most of us that have ordered and have a production number- none of us are going to back out, regardless of the price. Seriously- all this sweating- who cares? It absolutely HAS to fall within a certain, VERY limited range. Say $39,999 to $44,999 for the 335i. Now anything outside that range is worthy of multiple threads and much hand wringing. Anything that falls within that range? Much ado about nothing if you ask me. So my payment moves up $40....even $100. I'll live. I'm anxious for my production status to change...not for the pricing to be realeased. -22

That's true. I'm buying the car either ways; I think we've all just become worked up about the pricing, based on months of speculation. I still remember the morning when the official pictures were released. Ahhhhhh.
