'07 M5

Any details on the '07 model? When will it start production? What differences are expected from the '06 cars?

Just a rumor, but I thought the M5 was coming out with the "soft close" doors....the feature where you gently close the door and then they get "sucked" close.

Hi, this is my first post, and I have a M5 on order with a production date of June 26. Will it be a 2006 or 2007 model?

Also, living in Virginia, we are not allowed to legally drive with a radar detector. I have an idea, as I own a 2005 545, now. However, any ideas where can I hide the unit and get 12volts (safely) on a (recomendation) non-detectible detector?

Where is the proper place to inquire about the radar detector type and location?

That has to be the dumbest feature there is. I don't understand the point of it at all. Just more weight for an already heavy performance vehicle.

Well, I assume production (switch of MY) will be September 1st, but I'm not 100% sure on that. The most biggest difference will be that the 07 can also be ordered with manual shifting instead of SMG. Anyway, you'll def. enjoy your new ride - that's for sure...

I agree. We got this feature on the 760Li (because it's standard) but you can live without it. Most of the time, I slamm the door as usal because I don't have the natural "need" for that feature so I simply forget it's there (you still have to close the door manually and I'm still physically able to close it with sufficient force.. ).
