Best Price/Best Dealer/Best Drop Off Location

I am new to this whole ED program, but would like to buy my 4th BMW (530 or 335) next September. I read alot on here about pricing; is the ED dealer invoice different from the reg dealer invoice? Can I expect to get the 7% or so discount for ED, plus another a $500 or so from the dealer who I work through? Is it practical to get the best price from any SA (does that mean Sales Agent?) in the US and then take delivery (and service) at my nearest dealer? Last but not least, what are a few of the best drop off locations other than Munich, if I just want to drive out somewhere, drop off the car, and then continue my vacation without the car? OK, one last question, what is the current BMWCCA discount for 5 vs 3 series? many thanks.

Uh, SA is service advisor so I wouldn't advise getting pricing from an SA. I would try a salesperson instead.

Depending on the market, you will find some dealers stick to list price, and some will sell at less than $1000 over invoice.

Drop-off locations - doesn't that really depend on where you going?

Regarding BMW CCA discount, if you mean the rebate, it's $1000 v. $500.

There are plenty of threads discussing purchasing/pricing strategies. You need to become familiar with the ED invoice price which can be found at the top of the Ask-A-Dealer forum. Add the prices of the base car plus options plus a reasonable fee for the dealer and you will have your ED price.

Also do a search on "courtesy delivery" which is what you are asking about when buying from one dealer and getting the car redelivered at another.

BMWCCA does not offer any discounts. BMWNA offer rebates to BMWCCA members in good standing. For additional information go to the BMWCCA.org, though you need to login to the member area.

Meant rebates, thank you, don't know what SA stands for, that's why I asked the question, thanks for the direction.

When would the purchase date for an ED be? When you pay for the car 30 days prior to picking up car in Europe?

So if I join the BMWCCA today (May 1), and then I go to a dealership tomorrow and order a car for ED pick up on June 1, 2007, I would have met the 1 year standing, given I would be paying for the car around May 1, 2007...correct?

Actually, BMW NA and the BMW CCA look at the one-year point from REDELIVERY backwards. This is a point that I have verified with the exec.dir. of the CCA. So you have to be a member for one year by the time the car reaches these shores. The time you pay and the time the car is placed in service don't count for this, so you have a few weeks extra breathing room.

Thread resurrection.
Clarification please!
To qualify for the BMWCCA rebate you have to be a member for 365 days. That is from joining to "redelivery" Is that redelivery the date I pick it up from the stateside dealer, or the date that the car arrives in the US or, the date I am notified by the Stateside dealer.
Thanks

Well, I guess, if you want to be safe, it would be from when it arrives at the dealer you arranged ED with but that sure is getting into the fine print and fine details!

Look, I bet if you joined BMWCCA on March 25, 2008 and your car is redelivered to the US in the month of March, 2009, I'd say you'd be safe that you'd qualify. It could reach port on March 2, sit there for 14 days for some unknown reason, and finally got to your dealer 2 days after that, you'd probably still be okay. I dunno how fine a line BMWNA would want to cut here but Jspira, if no one else, could dig out that deep detail....

Well I joined last night. And, by the time line I've been able to figure out from these boards is: Order in mid January 07, ED in mid April 07, + 6weeks for the shipping, makes it past May 18, to qualify, right?
