By money down do you mean cap. cost reduction? If you read up, you'll see that that's a bad idea typically.

Also if you read up, you'll find the BMW FS money rates now in effect. So far as I know, it's not possible to negotiate a better deal on a BMW FS lease than those published rates (although it is possible for the uninformed to get a worse deal).

You should strive to put as close to zero "money down" on leases (that is used to reduce the cap cost).

You definitely do not want to put any money down.

The April program was awesome. I got my 550 with SP, CWP, PSP, sirius and Nav for under $800/month (using 5 MSD's). And that is Domestic, not ED.

I went against the grain and actually used my BMWCCA rebate for a $1,000 cap cost reduction, but since it wasn't really "my" money, I tell myself that didn't count!

Don't overlook the MSD's. I figured my internal rate of return was just shy of 12% ... guaranteed ... tax-free. Now THAT is sweet!

Is that with tax or without? Did you put any additional money down?

Well, take the money saved by the MF reduction due to MSDs over the lease term (2-3 years typically). For a very simple analysis, take the money saved by the MF reduction and divide it by the MSD money you put down. That will give you an overall rate of return but it will be high.

To get more accurate, amortize it over the period of the lease term to get the interest rate being paid to you by lending BMW that money.

To be even more accurate, factor in inflation over the time period.

Even with all that, I think you'll realize a return rate no worse than about 9-10%.

Finally, realize that this rate of return is 100% tax free so that final number you come up with is it.

Can some of you post the specific numbers seen when doing MSD's? How much was each SD and how much did that reduce your MF? Just curious -- thanks!

To Steve 12M3: Payment includes sales tax. No additional $$$ down.

To Bart 001: Can't do details as running out to coach my daughters soccer game, but all this info is in the Ask-a-Dealer forum.

Good luck!

That's an awesome deal. How much did the MSD's lower your price? Are MSD's available in NY?

As I understand it, MSDs are not allowed in NY for some reason but you should dig hard into this to be sure.

Bart, see the sticky near the top of the Ask A Dealer forum...enjoy the read!
