Saw an IS300 Sport Wagon for the first time today...

On the Dulles Toll Road on the way to work. Silver with dealer tags. And, you know, honestly...

I thought it looked damn cool.

Really.

It looks like nothing else on the road and sort of like a 4-door M Coupe. I really liked it. Too bad it's slushie-only as I bet I could get a real deal on one.

I prefer the sedan, wagon is ugly.

Also, too bad every r-i-c-e-r has the lights. They only look acceptable on the IS

Yup. I do like Saabs (looks-wise) a lot.

And this pic looks great to me. If it had a manual tranny, I'd have to buy one.

And, IMO, since it's a wagon, it just doesn't look r-i-c-e.

No, the M Coupe looks good, the Sport Wagon is horrible.

Plus, it is A LOT slower than an M Coupe. Especially the S54

This is no contest looks-wise. The IS300 wins hands-down. The Z4 is a hideous, malformed atrocity. The IS300 wagon is merely quirky.

The Lexus is hideous (I also think Saab's are some of the ugliest cars around)

Bound to happen sometime. I think the Z4 is beautiful. To me, it looks like it came from a completely different company than the E65.

FWIW, we were at loggerheads over the '02 facelift, too. I really do think it looks better. Not just 'cause I own one.

I have seen both up close in the last week. I don't like the IS wagon at all, the sedan is nice; but not as attractive as the Z4

The Z4 is great, just awesome.

While I still don't like the revised headlights, I have a much bigger problem with the lower fascia treatment on all sedans except the 330i w/SP with the tiny, squity fogs. The 330is w/SP (like your car) look fine, IMO. The '01 330is w/SP looked better. But both are beauty queens compared to the '02+ sedans with the squinty fogs.

Also, loose the gray headlight and bumper trim. I parked next to a black 330Ci yesteday, mine looked sooo much better without that crap.

It's okay -- even attractive -- from some angles. I don't find it as hideous as I did initially. But it still looks just awkward to me most of the time.

Well, I guess we kind of agree. I like the new headlights, but agree that the slab & micro-fogs on the non-SP 330 and all 325s is not attractive.

I forgot about that. Yeah, that was the ugliest design trait among the 2001 330s. If I had kept mine, I would have had to swap out the headlight housings for black.

No way can I agree on that one but I guess if I were in your shoes I could understand how intimidating it is when *you* approach a 330Ci

Back on the subject . . . I think the IS300 sporttrac is pretty cool looking especially when you see one on the road. . . the only thing is I don't see the *real* purpose of this car because the cargo space is just too small to be very useful.
