broken seat-release lever
is there an inexpensive way to repair/replace a broken seat release lever (driver side);
my son pushed up on it too hard and it actually broke off ; "94 325iC |

If you mean that the physical lever is broken, then just replace the lever. If you mean that the lever is attached, but does not release the seat, then most likely your problem is a broken bowden cable. You can get both parts from the dealer.

i am guessing there are two little screws on the bottom on the back side. atleast there is on the e30's. i havent had to take off the back cover on a e36 yet. if you have a bentley use it. if you dont have one i would recomend buying one

Bimrpwr is correct that there are two screws at the bottom of the cover. But to release the top, all you need to do is pull out the headrests.

I had the same thing happen, and to access the lever inside the seat, I had to peel back the leather from the front of the seat. The leather on the front is tucked into a lip on the seat back. From there, it was easy, just replace the cable or plastic lever part. Then the leather goes right back into place.
